i wish our local government could give a tribute to uncle tony who once faithfully serve our town and guide it during its infancy stage. maybe we could extend this to the other former officials as well. we could do this every time we celebrate our "araw ng nabunturan".
The late Mayor Antonio Tulio was a kind man.I remembered him when I was young and we were just new in the place coming from Luzon. We barely know other people and he used to talk to us and made us felt we belonged. We were the neighbors to the Navas and he was always there. Thus whenever hed ran for any elected positions we helped him because we knew hed be a good leader.Indeed he had been and we never heard of him since we left Nabunturan. It's only now we learned of his death and to show my affection and sympathy for having been a part of his life without him being aware we were there for him, I am doing this to make his family know that he was indeed a good man,to us.Please take this comment as a sign of our sincerest respect and love for him.
Tagabungtod refers to one who has warm and wonderful memories about the town of Nabunturan.
In this once-everybody-knew-everybody town, legions have come and gone; pioneers, students, professionals, teachers, missionaries, workers, taga-lungsod, taga-baryo, village idiots, drunks, crooks, etc.
But whoever, whatever or wherever they may be, in their hearts, they will always have a story to tell about that town nestled on the hills, mountains and plains of Compostela Valley. Ang lungsod nga naa sa bungtod. Nabunturan. We who have our roots there are tagabungtod. And we will tell our stories here. This is our blogspot. This, too, is our home.
